Been coming here for the better part of 30 years..still my favorite joint for good Cantonese food. Be it lunch or late night eats. Portions are above average than other Chinese restaurants along Freeport. Compared to San Francisco..depends on where you ate at..this place is similiar to Mayflower that was in the inner Richmond. If you compared this place to Chinatown San Francisco? I prefer to eat here..it's not dirty or loud. Now if you compared this place to Hong Kong lounge in the inner Richmond then there's no comparison but you're also not paying $20 for a beef chow fun here. Some of you idiots need to look yourself in the mirror..don't cast stones from a glass house. Some places are worse than this..and some places are better..I too have lived in San Francisco. It's like you're comparing Mexican food with Salvadoran food.

I keep coming here and every dish is expertly made. Don't be discouraged by the 19th and Broadway neighborhood, New Station Seafood is an authentic gem, San Francisco quality Mandarin and Cantonese. Don't expect lots of spices, Californians find it bland, but it's classically prepared to bring out the flavor of the food itself. First of all, set your expectations ahead: expect the service to be bad. Expect long lags before the one server here gets to you, handling the phone and takeout in between. They aren't always pleasant, but this place is about the food, which is why I gave it 5 stars in spite of the service. These are the early Chinese recipes where measurements and quantities haven't been pared back. The dishes with scallops are heaping with scallops in portions that haven't been around since the 1950s for these expensive critters. "Scallops with X.O. Sauce" came with the sweetest, perfectly cooked snap peas and each scallop was done perfectly. All the seafood here is done just to the point of being cooked, as it should be. ( I happen not to like shrimp cooked so very little, I like it firmer, so I don't order shrimp here). The hot pot dishes are authentic, so if you get lamb or beef, expect lots of tasty gristle and chewy pieces, lots of thick collagen in the broth. The Ginger Beef was amazing, ridiculously huge hacked pieces of ginger tossed in with deliciously cooked beef that had a char-broiled flavor for some reason. Two can eat here for under $40 without drinks, and have leftovers for the next night's dinner as well. Portions are huge. The food does have a lot of oil in it, but there aren't a lot of gloppy sauces so the oil keeps the food deliciously flavored. Love this place, it's my absolute new favorite.

The shrimp fried rice is my go to...delish, affordable & always on point. I would like to have more fresh green onions on the rice.

Late lunch and wanted some Chinese food. Seafood Soup with tofu, Crispy Chicken, and the House Special Chow Fun Noodles. The soup was excellent, the Chicken was spot on crispy, and the Chow Fun was equally as good. I have always liked this restaurant on Broadway and will continue to frequent this place. Service was good and plenty of parking.
